Privacy Policy
We believe in transparency here. As such, we have created this page to inform of the information we collect, and don't collect, and the reasons behind each.
Information we collect:
As a rule of thumb, we collect no more information than what you give us, however, for functionality, small amounts of information are required. These are:
- Email address - although not essential to be able to use the site, we do ask for it at registration time in order to help combat spam, and so you can receive email digests. If you don't want to use a real one, get a disposable one. We won't ever sell your email to anybody, or disclose without prior permission from the owner.
- IP address - this is given by your computer when you visit the website. We retain these only in the form of web server logs, so that we can track down and prevent any malicious activity. This is not used to sell you ads, nor is it sold to advertising companies, nor will it be given to anyone without your prior consent. If you don't want your real IP recorded, get a proxy.
- Browser and OS type - this information is sent by your browser automatically, and is sent to every website you visit. We only record it again in the form of HTTP access logs, and never sell it, or abuse it. It's only used again for tracking malicious activity. Don't want us having this info? Install a browser plugin to fake it. They're out there and easy to find and use.
- Username - this is only really recorded so you can login, and so we can identify who's speaking in social boards. Most websites do this, and remember, you give us this information, so you can make it whatever you want.
Additional Information Collected:
Additionally, we also have a JavaScript load in each page, which tracks this information into some nice graphs, etc., so that we can see what pages are being frequently visited, how long people spend on these pages, and what websites you've arrived from. We do this so we can provide better content for you. However, if you don't like this, just untick the box below, and you won't be tracked (until you clear your cookies, in which case, just untick it again):
